Many sub manufacturers especially the cylindrical models such as SVS’s most popular line recommend corner placement. Imaging should be not be affected unless your mains are extremely bass-light so the sub’s crossover has to be set very high.
Amp/receiver power: Where do I need to be?
How to Wire an Amp to a Sub and Head Unit A sub woofer or two in a vehicle can make the world of difference in listening to music. It is very important to match the RMS of your subs to your amp. You want an amp more powerful than your sub, because you don’t want your sub to clip. Clipping is the number one reason of bass distortion. Steps 1 Gather your equipment Amp, Subs, Stereo, and wiring.
If you’re using an after market head unit, go to an electronics store’s stereo department and ask for a wiring harness from your car to the after market head unit.

Why, for that kind of money, a sane person could buy ten guitars! So, where do you go from here? Here is a group of, in my opinion, seriously undervalued amps. Even the priciest of them are still, in these times of inflated value for anything tube or tweed, well worth the coin. These are relatively simple amps with a very basic control panel Volume and Tone and only Speed for the Tremolo. With a silver grille cloth and the Univox or Lafayette logo, these are good looking, if somewhat aesthetically pedestrian amps.
Very lightweight — super for recording or a small jam where you need a nice bluesy overdrive at low volume. Not the most versatile amp on the list, but a very cool one-trick pony at, often, a great price. Both these amps use the seldom-seen 6MB8 output tubes. They are low powered watts amps, with a great smooth overdrive with crisp highs and woody, warm mids and lows. Cathode-bias, non-feedback loop amps allow for plenty of spongy tone and singing sustain. Simple wiring to follow for a PCB amp.
Plenty of space for upgraded Sprague Atom, or other high end, Electrolytic caps. Well, the 6MB8 output tubes have a tone all their own.

My Jeeps How do I hook up speakers with 2 preout head unit? I’m looking at a Kenwood EZ head unit because I think it’s style blends in with the Jeep the best but it only has 2 preouts. I assume you pick one or the other. I will be adding an amp or two? Is it possible to get decent sound with four speakers plus a sub from a head unit that only has two pre outs. I’m sure it’s better to get a head unit with three preouts but I’m not and audiphile, and I personally like the understated looks and simple controls on the Kenwood.
There are several sections in this website that you should read regarding track wiring. This section, Part II, covers track wiring.
The OC As Roger said, this is generally not a good idea. It can work but you have to be very careful. You can use a switch, but you’ll have to be very careful to make sure you never switch it when the amps are powered up. Also you must be aware that having a switch in the line between an amp and a speaker is not a good idea. A switch can have resistance and it’s contacts can pit and oxidize over time.
The more current that runs through them, the more likely this is. That said, many receivers have built in speaker switches, but mainly these are lower powered receivers and not fussy higher end amplifiers. If you never flip the switch when the amps are on, you’ll lessen the possiblity of arcing and pitting. A switch has no polarity, so it doesn’t care if you’re switching speakers or amps.
A speaker switch can function just fine as an amplifier switch. There are another few things to consider. Many amps are not happy being powered without a load.

How do you hook up a 3 farad capacitor to two amps? If you mean in series the output of amplifier a plugs into the input of amplifier b , probably not. Unless amp b can handle the input power delivered by amp a, and then linearly amplify that signal up to its own level, you will get massive distortion.

The tech world has finally coalesced around a charging standard, after years of proprietary adapters and ugly wall-wart power supplies. Ten to 15 years ago, you always had to make sure you had the correct power supply for each of your gadgets. Not all USB chargers, connectors, and cables are born equal. Sometimes, one USB socket on a laptop is seemingly more powerful than the other. In almost every case, your PC is the host, and your smartphone, tablet, or camera is the device.
Okay, now the numbers. A regular USB 1. In terms of actual current milliamps or mA , there are three kinds of USB port dictated by the current specs:
Help wiring 2 amps! 1 for speakers, 1 for sub.
But what the manufacturer is not showing you is the bandwidth vs. Quality of bass and how well it integrates into a system is paramount. If I have to sacrifice a bit of extension and SPL to achieve this, so be it. The Set-Up I left my EP towards the left front corner behind my couch as it has been for the past 3 years. I placed one EP on top of it and the other EP diagonally located towards the back right of the room.

It is remarkably compact and portable for a live sound system with this much capability. And thanks to leading Yamaha digital technology, the EMX CF also includes a number of innovations that make it easier than ever to achieve top-class sound in just about any venue. An impressive power output of watts per channel means it can handle fairly large audiences, indoors or out. Versatile input configuration adapts to varied source requirements The EMX CF has a total of 16 input channels-eight for monaural microphone or line input plus four stereo pairs.
The stereo channel pairs can function either as monaural microphone inputs or stereo line inputs. This system gives you extra microphone inputs if your sources are mostly microphones, or if you need to handle more stereo sources, the EMX CF will comfortably handle four pairs in addition to eight mono mic or line inputs. Advanced channel EQ 3-band EQ is available on all input channels, but extra versatility is provided on the eight mono channels with mid-frequency sweep controls. The mid EQ center frequency can be continuously swept from Hz through 5 kHz so you can precisely pinpoint frequencies in the critical midrange.
But it does feature a range of inputs and outputs that allow it to be expanded with external gear or integrated into larger systems.

Comments Read by 37, people Some people believe that we are hurtling towards physical disaster with our delicate electrical grid. Just how that disaster might occur is open for debate, but we need only look at major power outages over the last few years to see how precarious our grasp on electricity is. Severe weather has given the grid a walloping over the past few years. We need to reduce our dependency on municipally delivered power and either create our own power or simplify to the extent that we need less power.
Most of these are powered by gasoline, although some are fueled by propane. These investments would certainly be handy during a short term outage but are they really worth the money?

About Amps Finding the right amp for your bedroom and smaller clubs, can be a challenge. During the last decade, the market has been flooded by affordable tube amps in all price ranges and while most of them will cover your basic needs, there are some distinct differences that will have an impact on your tone. The large tube stack phenomenon started in the late 60s, when bands moved to bigger stages and needed more volume and wattage.
Prior to this, a small combo would do the job nicely. The whole thing escalated in the 80s with the ridiculous, although cool looking, walls of Marshalls. By the early 90s, the low wattage tube amps were almost forgotten in favour for the transistor. But trends tend to get their rennaissance and once again, guitarists demands the timeless sound of the tube amp. Large stacks or small combos?
It almost goes without saying. A loud w, or even 50w stack head and speaker cabinet is way too much for your bedroom and smaller clubs. Obviously, volume is an issue. To be able to drive a w tube amp you need to play loud. At low volume the amp will sound dull and flat. David Gilmour has always set his amps, large or small, just at the edge of breakup.
